Helping Hand Project

Dr. Satyavedam Helping Hand Project

Children of Life Prisoners -

It is a unique project, but different from other projects, rendered by AMG India. On compassionate grounds, AMG came forward to contribute services to the children and families of prisoners, for their rescue. When the family member is convicted and put in the jail, the spouse and children are almost treated as ex-communicated persons by own relatives and neighbours in the society. The stigma greatly affects the family members. As a result, the education of children becomes a casualty and is discontinued. The spouse becomes a daily wage earner. The tribulations of the family are unbearable and uncountable.

The above circumstances made the heart of AMG heavy, when it peeped into the lives of the children and family members. Then, AMG designed the vision, mission and goals for the welfare of the above victims. The project officers/ Social workers pursue the programme for collection of information of long/life term prisoners from the Central Jails, from 23 Districts in Andhra Pradesh.

  1. Direct beneficiaries (Parents / Families) 395
  2. Indirect beneficiaries (Children) 1500

In order to extend services to the above victims, AMG inaugurated the Dr. Satyavedam Helping Hand Project on 6th March, 2010. Shri B. Ramanjaneyulu IAS, the Collector and District Magistrate, Guntur dist, gave heartfelt message to the children and spouses and guardians of convicted, which awakened, strengthened and gave comfort to them. Civil Judges Shri Shanmukha Rao and Shri Panduranga Rao also gave their valuable message to them. The cheques were given to the children for continuation/ extension of their studies. To and fro travelling expenses were paid to the family members. All family members were given new clothes.

Our beloved Director Dr. Arun Kumar Kanti Mohanty comforted the children and deserted family members, that AMG is behind them and always supports the children in their education and strengthens them to become useful citizens to the Nation and remain sustainable persons for the coming generation.
