Job and Business Centre

Name of the Project : Job and Business Centre

Status: On going

Target Group: ITI Work Trainees.

Introduction: At the outset, for the past 3 decades, AMG has been rendering marvellous services to the deprived, destitute, unloved, uncared and neglected.

AMG is running projects with 3fold ministries i.e feeding, healing and comforting. Many needy people are getting benefited by AMG India International through the help of the like- minded Donors from abroad.

Context:
Job and Business Centre was started in the year 2003. JBC is a cell, in AMG Head office, Chilakaluripet. One year JBC programme begins from 1st November to October 31 every year. Now the 6th batch is running well with 75 students. JBC helps the students of ITI, who have completed their study, to acquire practical knowledge/experience through on job training, in various Industries and Factories, depending upon their skills and trade. Basically, the students learnt theory and practical work in AMG ITI.

Those who want to join in AMG Institutions, mostly come from villages and small towns and hence, they don’t have sufficient information regarding job opportunities available, after their studies and more over, their parents are illiterates. Hence, their parents are unable to send their children to higher studies, due to lack of financial strength. Therefore, JBC training helps the students to select suitable jobs/placements, after completion of on the job training.

Objectives:

The process, which facilitates the link between education and work, is called Job and Business Centre and its objectives are, building a bridge between Vocational training/ Secondary/ Higher education and Labour market/ Entrepreneurship and job placement.

  • Among work trainees, some became self-motivated and committed and driven to work independently. We have seen a lot of deference in them, when compared to past, in terms of work.
  • JBC helps the students about the job opportunities and training facilities available to improve their skills and to become self-sustainable.
  • JBC helps the students financially, either fully or partly, to start their own workshops, depending upon their trades, as full time service centre.
  • Most of the students come from villages of Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam, East & West Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts of Andhra Pradesh. Target group is poor students and they are living below poverty line, who have completed ITI course in AMG- DITI.
  • Coming to follow up of the 5 batches, nearly 80% of the Students are settled in professional life with the help of on job training.
  • Every month, we gather the job trainees in our campus. We arrange speakers, in their monthly gathering to deliver messages on various topics, such as skill development/ Personality development, Moral values, Dignity of labour, Leadership qualities, financial managements, Business ethics, savings and Job opportunities available, so that our trainees are well equipped in all aspects and are able to face any/ all situations in their life.
  • Management of the companies and parents of the trainees are cooperating with us, for effective implementation of the project.
  • During this training period, our trainees got government apprentice certificates, which are eligible for permanent jobs in government sectors.
  • We are receiving requirement letters from leading factories, for our ITI students, for on job training, because, our previous trainees performed their duties very well and also their conduct and behaviour was good.
  • About 90 percent of the trainees of 5th batch are settled in better jobs according to their trades and skills.
  • Most of the trainees, those who are in good looks of management, are settled as regular employees on salary basis in factories, after completion of one year training.
  • We conducted a personality development session to the work trainees. We invited Miss. Susmithapriya, District Employment Officer as the Chief Guest for the session. She taught about Career guidance and employment opportunities to the trainees.
  • On another occasion, we have conducted a session to the work trainees. Mr. Vijaya Kumar, Principal of Govt. ITI College, a facilitator for this session, taught about skill developments and how to success to the trainees.
  • Our Director Dr. Arun Kumar Kanti Mohanty taught about job opportunities and holistic developments and awareness on the concept of giving back, when you earn profit.
  • Our social worker is regularly attending and getting reports from the industries and working, during his regular visits to the trainees.
  • We are happy, our former trainees Mr. Junil, Mr. Sunder and Mr. Sunil established refrigeration workshops, in different places and are giving opportunity to our students as work trainees in their workshops.
  • Some previous JBC trainees, will have to come forward to start own shops, but due to lack of money, they are seeking help and need our financial support.
