Country wide lockdown in India was imposed on the 24^th March onwards and it is still continuing, in our fight to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to lockdown, economically weaker families are facing lot of difficulties, as, they are not able to go out for work. They are all daily wage workers in agriculture or construction or in Tobacco and Cotton mills, which are still closed. AMG School, Chilakaluripet is providing their children education for building their future lives. With Deichmann Foundation, Germany donations, we have provided Rice, Dal, Provisions and vegetables, BPL families in Rajaka colony/CR colony. The families were very grateful and thankful to AMG and Donors Deichmann Foundation, Germany.

Ration items given to fishermen families of children in AMG School.

AMG School, Vadarevu was started to educate the children of fishermen families, from in and around villages. Because of lockdown, these people could not go for fishing and lost their income. As they are poor and lead hand to mouth existence with their daily wage income, loss of work put them to lot of difficulties and many families were on the brink of starvation. We thank Deichmann Foundation, who came forward to provide Rice, provisions and vegetables and other family need items. The fishermen families gratefully thank Deichmann Foundation for their timely help.

COVID 19 Relief material distribution to Fishermen community, Vodarevu

The fishermen communities of Vodarevu haven’t had any work, since the Government prohibited fishing during this lockdown period. AMG and the Deichmann Foundation decided to help the families of the students, who attend our English medium school in Vodarevu and are at home during this Covid-19 lockdown period. Lack of income and an additional mouth to feed has made it increasingly difficult for these families to exist.

COVID 19 Relief material distribution to Patents of AMG School Children, Vodarevu

Vodarevu is a beach near Chirala, where we have a school for the children from the fisherman community. The past one month of lockdown by the Government and the prohibition of fishing has led the families in this community to suffer. AMG along with the Deichmann foundation has decided to help the families of the students studying in our school with the necessary supplies they need during these difficult times. Our staff has done a good job reaching out to the needy in Danavaipeta and Pathuru.

Rations given to parents of AMG School children, Pasumarru village.

AMG High School, Chilakaluripet, was started to educate the children of poor labourers and village people and tobacco/ cotton mill workers in Chilakaluripet. They are very poor and came here from different villages in the district to work here. Slowly, they settled in Pasumarru village on the outskirts of Chilakaluripet. The place is full of smoke and dust, from the factories. Due to lockdown the factories are closed, and the workers did not have any work or income. Considering their utter poverty, our Donors, Deichmann Foundation, Germany came forward to provide rations to 2250 poor workers families.

Food items distribution at public health workers colony, Chilakaluripet.

Public health workers colony is a colony in Chilakaluripet, where most of them work as sanitary workers. Their children attend our school and with the Covid-19 lockdown resulting in closure of schools and lack of work for these families, AMG together with the Deichmann Foundation are providing Dry food and hygiene kits for these families. This will help the families to sustain themselves for the coming few days.

Food items given to families of School children, Polireddypalem

Polireddypalem is a colony in Chilakaluripet. Most of the children from this area go either to AMG Day care centre in Polireddypalem or to our school in AMG campus. AMG and the Deichmann Foundation together are helping the families of the students of our school in Chilakaluripet. Most of the parents are daily wage laborers and lack of work has stopped any income, that they might have earned during this period. Income that went towards feeding their families and with schools closed and children at home, there is one more mouth for them to feed. During this time our staff has been able to provide the families in Polireddypalem colony, with rice and vegetables and hygiene kits, which will enable them to eat for the next few days.

AMG and the Deichmann Foundation together are helping the families of the students of our school in Chilakaluripet, who have been left helpless, because of the lockdown and lack of jobs. Ganapavaram is a village near Chilakaluripet. With the children at home and parents having no work, things have been increasingly difficult for these families. Most of the children from the village are studying in our AMG School in Chilakaluripet. Thimmapuram is a village near Chilakaluripet. Most of the children from the village are studying in- our AMG school in Chilakaluripet. Vegitables & Rice given to poor families at Edlapadu village.

Edlapadu is a village about 12 km from Chilakaluripet. Most of the children from the village are studying in our AMG School in Chilakaluripet. With the lockdown, they have been facing difficulty with no day-to-day work and tending to their families. With help from Deichmann Foundation, AMG was able to distribute food items, such as, rice and vegetables along with hygiene packs to the families of students from the village.

Food Rations given to Slum people at Narasaraopet.

AMG is running a Day Care Centre in Narasaraopet, an adjoining town of Chilakaluripet. With the help of the staff of our Day Care Centre, we were able to help the needy families in a slum in Narasaraopet. We provided them with rice and vegetables for their nutrition and soaps for hygiene. The aged are facing a lot of difficulty due to the Coronavirus impact and the lockdown.

Food Rations given to Fishermen families, Vadarevu.

AMG School, Vadarevu, was started in 1992, to provide English medium education to the children of fishermen community living in this area. These fishermen are illiterate people and live from fishing. Due to lockdown, these fishermen could not go for fishing and make a living. Nearly, 1800 children from fishermen community are studying in the school. As the fishermen had No Work – No Income, Deichmann Foundation, Germany, provided food rations to these poor families. The fishermen and their families thank Deichmann Foundation for their kind heart to help them.

As there is no work/ no money/ no buses etc, and haunted by the fear of Coronavirus, they have started on a long walk to go to their homes and are walking hundreds of kilo meters. They have no money to buy food and there are no hotels to buy food. AMG gave them food and water packets. They are very grateful to AMG and Donors for their timely help.

Haunted by the fear of Coronavirus and with no work/ no money/ no place to stay etc, they began their long walk to go to their homes and are walking hundreds of kilometers. They have no money for food. We felt very sad, when we saw their faces, which reflect their hunger and despair. AMG gave them food and water packets. They are very grateful to AMG and Donors for their timely help.
