AMG School, Parimithadaka was started in 1998. Parimithadaka is a tribal village, covered with hills and forest. Main occupation of these tribals is collecting soap nuts, tamarind, firewood and other forest products and selling them, mainly to the middlemen, who have been exploiting these innocent and ignorant tribal for centuries.
Without education and away from civilization, town people have deceived these tribals. Over the past many generations, these tribal people have remained as unskilled, daily wage labourers and their children also becoming labourers. There is neither development in their community nor improvement in their lives. The children hardly go to school, because, these schools are located in distant villages and became drop-out children, hunters, and labourers.
In these circumstances, AMG entered into the area and in the academic year 1999-2000, started a Residential English Medium School for 242 tribal children. Now, the strength of children is 830. AMG conducts awareness programs and Adult Education Centers in Parimithadaka and surrounding 50 villages for educating the adult illiterate tribals, as a first step for their development. Many of these tribals are now made aware of the value of Education.
Even though, some of these tribals are still illiterate, they are willing to send their children to our school. Now, they are enlightened and stopped sending their children to the forest and admitted them in our residential school. AMG Tribal project, Parimithadaka has become dear to our school children and they consider the school, Vocational Training Centre and Hospitals as a blessing for the tribals.
